In the 1990s, SGTM built the Casablanca Technopark, Morocco’s first technology business incubator and startup hub, inaugurated in 2001. The main building, located in Casablanca-Sidi Maârouf, offers approximately 30,000 m² of modular office space spread over nine floors, specifically designed to host young ICT companies.
SGTM executed the reinforced concrete structure and the building envelope, characterized by a blue curtain wall façade and open-space floors of 1,500 m² each. The works also included a two-level underground car park and a 250-seat conference center. The project had to be delivered within a tight 18-month schedule, as the Technopark was part of Morocco’s offshoring acceleration plan.
A key challenge was ensuring high flexibility in interior layouts (minimal columns, raised floors) to adapt to startup requirements. Operational since 2001, the Technopark permanently hosts over 300 startups and innovative SMEs, gathering around 2,500 employees on site. Its success led to the replication of the concept in Rabat and Tangier. Through this project, SGTM demonstrated its expertise in high-value tertiary buildings, with features such as resilient networks, 24/7 air conditioning, and advanced security systems.
