SGTM played an active role in the construction of the Tangier Med port complex, one of the largest maritime hubs in Africa and the Mediterranean. The consortium led by SGTM delivered key structures, including the main breakwater of the deep-water port—several kilometers in length—as well as the quays and storage yards of the container terminal.
Tangier Med I, commissioned in 2007, and its extension, Tangier Med II, completed in 2018, offer a total capacity of over 9 million TEU containers per year, along with a passenger and ro-ro terminal serving 7 million travelers annually. SGTM’s involvement in this strategic project showcased its expertise in maritime works (marine foundations, caissons, rock armoring) and contributed to making Tangier Med a national logistics engine.
