SGTM carried out the construction of the new Terminal T3 at Marrakech-Ménara Airport, a 57,000 m² facility designed to triple the airport’s capacity. This terminal features bold architecture (façades with arabesque patterns, a large glazed dome 45 m in diameter and 32 m high) that maximizes natural light and energy efficiency. The works included deep foundations and the installation of telescopic boarding bridges, all while keeping the existing airport fully operational.
SGTM met the challenge of delivering this strategic project ahead of the COP22 in 2016, in close coordination with ONDA. The new Terminal 3 offers fluid interior spaces (public hall, boarding lounges, duty-free shops, VIP lounges) and integrates sustainable solutions (double ventilated façade, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting). Commissioned in December 2016, it increased the airport’s annual capacity to 9 million passengers, up from 3 million previously.
