SGTM carried out the construction of the new headquarters of Maroc Telecom in Rabat, an iconic office tower in the Moroccan capital. The works began in 2008 and were completed in 2013. The building, 91 m high (139 m including the antenna) and comprising 20 above-ground floors, became the tallest building in Rabat.
SGTM executed the deep foundations (piles up to 30 m) followed by the erection of the reinforced concrete central core and slab-parapet floor systems. The façade consists of a high-performance glazed curtain wall, installed progressively as the floors were built. The project also included three basement levels (parking for 400 vehicles) and a 600-seat auditorium at the base of the building.
On-site coordination involved up to 13 convoys of tower cranes and concrete pumps to maintain the pace of pouring one floor every 10 days. With its distinctive oval design, the project required an investment of MAD 1.1 billion. Delivered on schedule, it offers 6,000 m² of modular office space spread over 20 floors, served by 13 high-speed elevators. The tower, inaugurated in 2013, accommodates the group’s 1,200 employees and stands as a symbol of the modernity of Morocco’s telecommunications sector.
