In the 1980s, SGTM carried out a major renovation of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Casablanca, a landmark 5-star establishment located on Place des Nations-Unies. Originally opened in 1973, the hotel required modernization in 1983 to meet Hyatt’s international standards for its 255 rooms and suites.
SGTM managed the refurbishment of all trades: reconfiguration of certain floors, renovation of the six restaurants and bars, creation of a business center and a modular ballroom. The works also included upgrading technical installations (centralized air conditioning, backup generators, fire safety system) and redesigning the lobby and outdoor pool/spa area for a more contemporary look.
The project was executed in a partially operational site, with the hotel remaining open during works. SGTM planned the renovation floor-by-floor and conducted night works to minimize disturbance to guests. Delivered on time for the hotel’s 10th anniversary, the renovation restored the Hyatt’s status as a luxury address in Casablanca, catering to an international business clientele.
